Mr. Kiwi is our wonderful Pacific Parrotlet - the World's smallest true Parrot. Imagine the attitude and spunk of an Amazon, in a body the size of a Parakeet! As of 1/29/2008, he is 2.5 years old and has a vocabulary of 25 words and probably another 10-20 unique sounds that he picked up from the human world. Words and Phrases: Kiwi, scratch, stretch, green, Kiwi bird is green, No biting, Ouch, Wash, Would you like to clean your cage?, Good bird, Birdy, Soup, Drink, What do you think of your cage?, Beak, My name (I'm not telling you what that is :) , Kiss, and perhaps Toes. The sounds he makes includes: the sound of us "sniffing" him - it's uncanny, the sound of the faucet running - again an amazing copy, the sound of a kiss, the sound of an iPod click, laughter, and a few other sounds that are too weird to describe! There are many more things he says but does not yet wish to share with us as he is a closet talker - he talks much more when he does not know we are in the room and these sessions are at 2-3x normal human speed.
